AquaArm WPU 1K is a single-component, liquid-applied elastomeric polyurethane waterproof coating designed to protect concrete and masonry surfaces against moisture, water, and salt infiltration. This highly flexible, chemical-resistant coating forms a seamless, continuous membrane with excellent crack bridging ability and high tensile strength. It resists positive water pressure and remains durable under extreme humidity, temperature variations, and UV exposure.

Ideal for waterproofing retaining walls, podiums, sunken slabs, terraces, swimming pools, and other critical structures, AquaArm WPU 1K can be applied by roller, brush, or spray, offering strong adhesion to various substrates. The coating is non-toxic and root-resistant, making it suitable for environmentally sensitive applications.

Application Methodology

  1. Surface Preparation: Clean by wire brushing and vacuum cleaning to remove loose particles, dust, laitance, curing compounds, and mould release agents. Refrain from water jetting. Repair cracks with polymer-modified mortar such as Rearm SBR. Allow surface to cure for 24 hours and ensure moisture content is below 5%.

  2. Fillet Preparation: Prepare 50 x 50 mm concave fillets at horizontal and vertical joints using concrete admixed with AquaArm Proof WP10 at 150 g per 50 kg cement bag. Allow curing and drying before priming.

  3. Priming: Use epoxy-based FloArm Primer EPW-44 (two-component). Mix and apply evenly with a brush on clean concrete. The pot life is 30 minutes. Apply the waterproof coating AquaArm WPU 1K when the primer is tacky.

  4. Product Application: Mix contents thoroughly with a slow-speed stirrer (approx. 300 rpm) before use. Do not dilute. Apply immediately over tacky primer with a lambswool roller; brush may be used for edges and small areas. Apply two coats to avoid pinholes. Maintain a minimum 300 mm application height from Finished Floor Level (FFL) on walls. Allow 12-16 hours drying between coats at 25°C. Spray application with airless spray machines is also possible.

  5. Protection: Use 160 gsm geo-textile as separation barrier before protection screed application (minimum 15-20 mm plaster for vertical surfaces). Use suitable drainage boards for retaining walls exposed to hydrostatic pressure.
